The importance of identifying stakeholders and understanding audience attitudes.
Especially now a days, it is essential for organizations to focus on stakeholders. In the past, the old way of doing business involved putting forth their attention to primarily shareholders and to ensure that their needs are met, but times have changed. The problem with putting attention to the older ways was that it let to issues such as poor management and a reliance on external regulation. Since stakeholders are so important, then it is crucial to be able to identify them. Each stakeholder group related to the company has a unique perspective and set of interests. The importance of this is that a company can foster genuine connections and meaningful engagement If they can understand the unique sets of interests and tailor communication strategies that can resonate with each nuance (granitewordpress, 2024). Secondly, it is equally as essential to be able to understand audience attitudes. A business can only be successful if they know their audiences and who they are even selling their product or service to. The two key elements in success, are the importance of the brand and the power of the people. Emotion is an imperative part in the people’s opinion toward a company. They are not just buying a product or service; they are buying the brand, and not just any brand, but a brand that they feel emotionally connected to (Southard, 2024). This all circles back to why a costumer chooses a brand to stick with. The company must present their products as something for their target audience and the majority. The company must understand trends and the society norms to attract customers to their brand. If not able to do this, then the company will not succeed.
Does public opinion influence public relations decisions?
Yes, public opinion influences every aspect of society, which therefore holds an immense amount of power. Media and public relations play a crucial role in shaping and steering the worlds perceptions (O.P Staff, 2025). One of public relations jobs is to create a positive and favorable societal view on their company. Now a days, media plays a huge role in displaying public opinion as well as mass formation of opinions. Due to the vast accessibility of the internet, anyone can search the web for past controversial events that can come fourth to hurt a company’s reputation. This is why its of the highest importance to a company to create a publicly accepted image of themselves. Once the public makes a negative opinion on a brand, it is hard to come back from a protest against buying from them. Some ways of carrying out positive factors include public surveys, donations to charitable causes, and keeping up with the fast-changing society trends. Some ways that companies are receiving public feedback include having the customers rating their experience through surveys like the CSAT (Customer Satisfaction Survey).
The role of persuasion, reputation, image, and relationship building in successful communication.
In successful communication, persuasion is utterly important because it’s the way in which you can market your product or service. To properly persuade, one must not be afraid to unleash their passion and really resonate with the target audience like Bill Gates, owner of apple, was able to do so well. He was a notable example on how to turn a presentation into a performance. Persuasion’s role in communication is being able to thoroughly convince the audience why your product is the best and why they should buy it. Secondly, reputation is ones most valuable assets and should be held to a high importance. It is a collective perception about an organization and how people thing and feel about them. Communication plays a significant role in shaping those perceptions. To be successful, a company must build trust and establish a positive image of themselves. This transitions into the third role in successful communication, which is a company’s image. This is how society views a company, which can either be in a positive or negative way. It is important to have a good reputation so that the people can view the company as reliable, professional, leaders, or seen as a brand that does good to the environment and society. Finally, the there’s relationship building. This role is how companies create an atmosphere that customers want to come back to. Communicating with costumers on new deals can be an effective way of getting them to return. Also, being able to be on a personal level with regular customers is a great way of establishing a relationship with them.
Whats an organization that demonstrates these concepts effectively?
An organization that really sticks out with their reputation and image is Patagonia. In the 2025 Aoxis Poll reputation ranking, Patagonia placed 2nd with a score of 82.0, which is only .1 less than the top company. One of the reasons that they’ve reached this image is by having a brand promotion for protecting the planet.

In conclusion, these concepts are what build up a successful company. Achieving organizational goals come from having a positive public opinion which derives from their reputation and image. What really makes a company thrive is the personal relationships they make with their customers that makes them keep coming back.
